Special rules apply to the military. As Alabama is your place of legal resident and you are overseas, you may file in Alabama at any time without need to wait the normal six months required to establish jurisdiction.
I spoke with a lawyer today about filing for a divorce, and as we spoke he told me that if I keep the house I have to pay the mortgage. We have 2 kids together and I have 2 already. He is in the military, has cheated on me, I have tried to make it work and it didn't but now I feel I am not getting a fair deal. His quoted child support amount was only $784 but his income is $4384 I just started working and have not gotten a check yet but they include my hourly pay of $15 hr at 40 hours a week.I have been dependent on him for 9 years and I have 4 kids in all to take care of. I feel he should at least pay the mortgage.
